Starting in March 2026, some adults between 18 through (and including) age 64 must meet the ABAWD Work Rules to keep SNAP for more than 3 months. You must meet these rules during the current 36-month time period, which is October 1, 2023 until September 30, 2026.

The Lewis County Warming Center located at 5499 Jackson Street, Lowville, is open daily November 1st – April 30th. The center is located in the lower level of the New Beginnings building and open 7pm – 7am daily. Anyone in need of shelter is welcome to stay.
