Lewis County Community Services (LCCS) is charged with ensuring Lewis County residents have access to services for residents who have mental health, substance abuse, and developmental disabilities.

THRIVE Wellness and Recovery
THRIVE’s Lowville Commons provides comprehensive mental health services to individuals who have mental health concerns, behavior problems, emotional distress, and co-occurring disorders. The Lowville Commons is a New York State Office of Mental Health, Licensed Outpatient Clinic. THRIVE maintains strong linkages with all community-based services including but not limited to Dept. of Social Services, substance use services, transportation, vocational training programs, and other community-based providers. They have satellite clinics in South Lewis, Copenhagen and Lowville schools.

Children’s Home of Jefferson County
Offers mental health services to children, adolescents and adults in Northern New York.
- Accepting Medicaid, Medicare, and most private insurances
- Individual, family and group therapy, as well as medication management services.
- Discounted rates and sliding scale fees for self-paying clients
Samaritan Medical Center
Behavioral health services at Samaritan includes outpatient psychiatry, intensive outpatient addiction services, alcohol and substance abuse treatment, and traditional outpatient addiction services. In addition, they also have a 32-bed inpatient mental health unit within the main hospital, and their emergency department has a dedicated mental health area to care for people in emergency situations.

Carthage Area Hospital
Carthage Area Behavioral Health Center was created to assist patients with a variety of mental health and emotional challenges. Our diverse selection of services extends to children, adolescents, and adults and includes the following:

Mobile Integration Team (MIT)
The North Country Mobile Integration Team (MIT) is designed to provide the clinical intervention and support necessary for adults with serious mental illness and youth with serious emotional disturbances to not only remain in the community, but also continue moving forward on their recovery journey. The underlying principles of every MIT service is that individuals do recover, individuals and families are resilient, and there is hope for your future.
The North Country MIT is a multidisciplinary team, including peers, dedicated to partnering with people with mental illnesses and their families to keep them healthy while living in their communities. The team will bring services to the individual and their family.
Substance Abuse/ Prevention
THRIVE Wellness and Recovery
Services include, but are not limited to: screenings and assessments, individual, group, and family counseling across the lifespan; care management; peer services; vocational services; medication prescribing and management (Medication for Opioid Use Disorders and psychotropic medications); harm reduction services (i.e. Narcan, Fentanyl test strips, tobacco cessation), referrals and coordination of care services, etc.
Pivot
Pivot offers a wide variety of information, services, and programs for you, your family, your co-workers, your school, and our community that promote substance misuse prevention and coordinate efforts to improve our community. In schools, Pivot provides counseling and classroom programs to help students prevent substance use and succeed academically.
