NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON LEWIS COUNTY
CDBG IMMINENT THREAT PROGRAM
Lewis County will hold a public hearing on May 5th, 2026, at 5:00 PM at the Lewis County Courthouse, in the Lewis County Board of Legislators Chambers, 7660 North State Street, Lowville, NY 13367, for the purpose of hearing public comments on Lewis County’s current Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) project: CDBG 636IT566-25 Lewis County Demolition Program. In 2024, Lewis County submitted an application for funding under the Community Development Block Grant (NYS CDBG) program that is administered by the New York State Office of Community Renewal. The County received an award of $274,710 to carry out the Lewis County Demolition Program, CDBG #636IT566-25. The CDBG program is administered by the New York State Office of Community Renewal (OCR), and provides resources to eligible local governments for housing, economic development, public facilities, public infrastructure, and planning activities, with the principal purpose of benefiting low/moderate income persons. The hearing will provide further information about the progress of the ongoing CDBG project. Comments related to the effectiveness of the administration of the CDBG project will also be received at this time. This hearing is being conducted pursuant to Section 570.486, Subpart I of the CFR and in compliance with the requirements of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended. This location is handicap accessible and can accommodate persons with physical disabilities. Interpretive arrangements can be provided for residents with hearing impediments or for those who do not speak English. Individuals who need interpretation services should contact the Clerk of the Lewis County Board of Legislator’s Office at 315-376-5356 one week in advance of the hearing date to allow for necessary arrangements.
