Posted Wednesday October 9th, 2024
LOWVILLE, NY- Lewis County is celebrating the reopening and construction of six major bridges throughout Lewis County. The projects were planned prior to the flooding that tragically hit Lewis County in July. The following bridges were a part of this capital project: Whitesville Road bridge near Barnes Corners, West Road bridge over Whetstone Gulf, East Road over Moose Creek, O’Brien Road bridge in the Town of Lowville, Crofoot bridge in the Town of West Turin, and the Gardner Road bridge.
The event will be held at the Gardner Road and Sharp Road bridge in Lowville on Monday, October 21, at 2:00 PM. The celebration will be joined by various partners on these projects including New York State Department of Transportation, C & S Engineers, Foit-Albert Architects, Barton and Loguidice, as well as local town, village, and county representatives.
County Manager Tim Hunt states, “These projects were a true example of a team effort. It was great to see the towns and villages coming together to work with the state to make these projects a reality.”
