LOWVILLE, NY- Lewis County is inviting residents, business owners, farmers, students, and community partners to take part in an important public workshop designed to help shape the County’s next chapter. The event will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from 6:30 to 8:00 PM at the Town Hall Theater, 5428 Shady Avenue, Lowville.
This workshop is part of Lewis County’s ongoing update to its Comprehensive Plan, a community‑driven roadmap that will guide decisions on housing, jobs, healthcare, agriculture, recreation, transportation, natural resources, and the overall character of the County. The County encourages broad community participation to ensure that the plan reflects the perspectives, priorities, and hopes of those who call Lewis County home.
The workshop will begin with a presentation on current trends affecting everyday life in the county including economic conditions, population changes, land use, and public services, followed by an open discussion where attendees can ask questions, share ideas, and identify opportunities and challenges shaping Lewis County’s future.
While registration is not required to attend, participants are encouraged to sign up. Popcorn and light refreshments will be provided. Everyone who signs in will be entered to win two rodeo tickets to the Lewis County Fair.
