Lewis County Shares Addendum to CGR EMS Study

Posted Wednesday June 10th, 2026

LOWVILLE, NY — Lewis County is sharing a newly released addendum to the EMS Sustainability Study developed by CGR as part of the County’s ongoing effort to provide transparency and ensure the community has access to complete information about the state of local emergency medical services.

The County requested this addendum to clarify several areas where stakeholders, including EMS providers, municipal officials, and members of the public, sought more information.

This supplemental information ensures that the County, EMS leadership, and elected officials have a more complete picture of current system pressures, especially regarding volunteer workforce shortages, rising operational costs, and the growing dependence on mutual aid.

The addendum also strengthens the foundation for evaluating long‑term EMS system options, including supplemental service through Lewis County General Hospital or the potential development of a County‑managed EMS model, as outlined in the original study.
