Nonprofit Bootcamp Session #3: Building Better Nonprofit Boards
Join us on December 4, 2025, from 1:00–3:00 PM at The Strand, 136 Franklin St, Watertown, NY for the third session of our Nonprofit Bootcamp Series: Building Better Nonprofit Boards.
Strong boards are the backbone of successful nonprofits. This session is open to anyone interested in nonprofit governance and will be especially valuable for board members and chairs looking to bring practical knowledge back to their organizations. Participants will explore key topics including legal and fiduciary responsibilities, officer roles, separating board and staff functions, accountability, and best practices for effective governance.
Featuring Sheena Soloman, Executive Director of The Gifford Foundation, who has led the foundation since 2019 and helped design the Nourishing Tomorrow’s Leaders program focused on building more diverse and inclusive nonprofit boards.
Hosted in partnership with the Lewis County Planning & Community Development Department, the Tug Hill Commission, and the Northern New York Community Foundation.
