Traffic Ticket Reduction Process
If you would like the District Attorney’s Office to consider a reduction of traffic charge(s)
pending against you, please send the below items to our office:
- A legible copy of each traffic ticket. If you do not have a copy of your ticket, please
obtain a copy from the court in the municipality where the ticket was written. - An explanation setting forth the reasons why you feel a reduction is appropriate;
- A copy of your Driver’s Abstract (this can be obtained from the DMV);
- If there was a motor vehicle accident associated with these traffic charge(s), provide a copy of the accident report and a letter from your insurance company stating that all property and/or personal injury damages have been fully satisfied.
The above items should be sent to our office via one of the following methods:

You are responsible for providing us with accurate contact information and/or return
addresses to transmit any proposed reduction.
Please allow up to thirty (30) days for review and response and note that failure to follow
these instructions exactly will result in no response from the District Attorney. The process may have
to be restarted and resolution of your case delayed, which may result in your license being suspended.
Please note that our office cannot adjourn any court dates and that contacting the District
Attorney’s office does NOT relieve you of your right to appear in court.
Any questions regarding court date, fines, or suspensions must be directed to the court.
